"Sculpting the Window Shades to Your Soul"
Ms. D. Renee, better known as The Eyebrow
Queen, has worked as a celebrity makeup artist and eyebrow groomer for
over 20 years. She founded The Eyebrow Queen Salon, which boasts “the
best sculpted brows in Atlanta.”
The Eyebrow Queen has been in business
now for five years and has already solidified its reputation in Atlanta
as the go-to destination for brows, lashes, makeovers, body waxes,
massages, spa facials, and more! The following is an exclusive
interview with Ms. D. Renee' herself on how she became The Eyebrow Queen and
what makes her business so successful.
GGG: What are your certifications? (i.e. cosmetology, esthetician, makeup artistry) Where did you go to school?
EQ: I am a celebrity traditional/air brush makeup artist and licensed esthetician. I went to school at the International School of Skin and Nailcare.
GGG: How did you become ‘The Eyebrow Queen’?
EQ: My clients named
me The Eyebrow Queen back in 1998. They say that no one in Atlanta can
do brows like me. It’s gotten to the point where people can recognize
my work on other people’s faces that they don't know. I think that I have set some kind of trend. (*Laughing*)
GGG: What techniques do you use to arrive at the perfect eyebrow? Waxing, threading, shaving, a combination, etc?
EQ: Before I touch
anyone, I analyze their features and brows. Some people may be born with a sharp
eyebrow but it may make them look too masculine, so I would round them
out a little. Some may have too high of an arch, some may not have an
arch at all. Basically, I create a brow that would be perfect for that
person. I can do all techniques such as razor, waxing, threading, and
tweezing.
GGG: What other services do you offer your clients? What are your price points?
EQ: I specialize in
brow sculpting, eyelash enhancements, all types of makeovers and body waxing/treatments. I
even do massages, mini facials, and spa facials. Better yet, we do
pamper parties with all types of perks. Our brows start from $5 on up.
Eyelashes start at $15, and makeovers start as little as $20.
GGG: What differentiates you from other ‘eyebrow sculptors’ such as ‘The Eyebrow King’ as seen on Real Housewives of Atlanta?
EQ: Well, again, I
customize an individual’s look for an affordable price. From natural
brows to drop dead gorgeous. All you have to do is say what you want
and it’s done.
GGG: Who are your celebrity clients?
EQ: Trina, Keshia Cole, T.I. and Tiny, Jazze Laffe, and locally Wanda Smith, Joyce Latel, and more.
